A Traditional Remedy for the Modern World
Shilajit has been considered an excellent remedy for healing wounds in traditional Indian medicine. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammation and anti-aging properties. Shilajit has been widely used in the traditional medicine of countries such as Bhutan, Russia, Tibet, India and Kazakhstan.

A Special Place in History
Aristotle mentioned shilajit during the ancient Greek period. In the 1st century B.C.E., a major medical work of Ayurveda from India, the “Caraka Samhita”, described it as “a stone as precious as gold”. In the early 11th century, “The Canon of Medicine” by Avicenna also recorded that shilajit could remove tumors and acne, indicating that shilajit has been used in medicine for a very long time.
During the Soviet era, the export of shilajit was even prohibited due to its preciousness.
Today, shilajit is taken as a dietary supplement to support cognitive health and brain health, and to reduce fatigue. It is also believed to help with weight management and sexual health.
